Thank you…

There are so many people I want to thank tonight.

First of all, thank you parents for the honor of teaching your children. Thank you for driving them to school, paying their tuition, encouraging them. Without you, we would not have experienced tonight’s wonderful Shabbat service.

Thank you students, for the amazing job you did tonight! Your skill was evident. You have worked hard to learn the prayers and songs and it showed. Your joy and excitement was contagious! You made our worship fun.

Thank you teachers (Alex, Nava, Sam, Julia S., Naomi, Alyson, Michelle, Rabbi Schicker, Rabbi Spivak, Steph) for preparing our children so well. You work so well together. You enjoy Jewish learning and you share that enjoyment with your students. You teach our children, You teach each other, You teach me. We all grow because of you.

Thank you to our Music Director, Naomi Morse for selecting the delightful music and teaching it to our children. Our children had so much fun with the music and it took our worship to the next level.

Thank you, Rabbi Schicker for planning such a meaningful family friendly service, your delightful story that grabbed the attention of children and adults alike and your skill with “stage directions” that made everything run so smoothly.

Thank you Henry and Ellen Winter for taking your grief after the loss of your lovely daughter and transforming it into the Shana Winter Fund for Jewish Education that promotes Jewish Education and recognizes excellence in our students. Thank you to the 2018-2019 Shana Winter Award recipients, Isaac Rubin, Asher Saltzman and Nathan Strauss for a job well done.

Thank you to the Joint Religious School Committee for the lovely oneg and for your thoughtful oversight and guidance. You have created an environment where the families from our two congregations can come together to learn, play and worship together. You are bringing our Jewish community together one thoughtful decision at a time.

Finally, thank you for our two congregations for joining together and making this joint school possible. Thank you for coming together in worship with our students tonight. It feels so good when we are together. Hinei Mah Tov.

Baruch HaShem. Shabbat Shalom.

In gratitude,

Nora Chaus
