There will be no school for students on Sunday, March 15. In place of school you are encouraged to to attend the first ever Worldwide Synagogue Sing! at 11am. This is an online event created specifically for religious school families staying at home due to COVID-19 . It is free but you must register. https://event.webinarjam.com/register/1/lvr00ty.

During school hours on March 15, teachers will meet via Zoom! to plan ways to provide virtual instruction for our students.

Governor Whitmer has closed all Michigan public schools. Based on that recommendation the Joint Religious School Committee (JRSC) has voted to follow and close school effective immediately.

The teaching team will be implementing an online instructional plan to keep students connected and continue learning. Our hope is to be able to use our usual instruction times for a synchronous virtual learning experience.  While we will all have a bit of a learning curve, we are hopeful that we will be ready to begin online instruction by Wednesday, March 18.  Updates will be posted on the blog as we move forward.

We have been advised by other Jewish educators who have experience with online learning in their schools that parents of the younger children should plan to participate alongside their students but that older students will most likely be independent once they get signed up.
