PreK-7 La-bri’ut Lesson (Judaism)
In K’hillah Lesson 3, students continue their study of K’hillah (community). They consider, “What is my responsibility to the k’hillah? What is the responsibility of others in the k’hillah to me?” Students explore what is possible to do in a community that you cannot do alone ideally because those in a k’hillah share in activities and with responsibilities.
PreK-3 Activity Box Instructions
In the box: White candles; decorating wax; blank card to decorate and send to another member of the k’vutzah; envelope for the
card; postage stamp; sheet with the Shabbat blessings
The task: Decorate candles to be lit on Shabbat in a virtual celebration with class members on Sunday, March 21. Each child then decorates the card to send to another person in the class. The name and address of the student(s) they are to write to can be found in their purple folder.

Entry deadline: March 30
The Jewish Education Center of Cleveland, with the incredible efforts of Jay Rapoport and his musical team, is creating a new La-bri’ut virtual choir video with the voices and faces of children across North America. We need YOUR help! You are invited to record yourself (with an adult’s help) singing along to the La-bri’ut theme song. Due date for your contribution is March 30. The theme song team will edit together their favorite contributions and share the final version in late April.
